Buy-A-Brick and help support our Girl Scout’s Veterans Memorial Garden
Third year Cadette Girl Scout Troop 4638 is excited to start working toward their Silver Award project: A Veteran’s Memorial Garden. This is a lasting tribute to all current and future US Military Personnel. Troop 4638 has partnered with the Avalon Park American Legion Post 409, Avalon Church (graciously donated the land for the garden) and the Avalon Park Property Owner’s Association.
This garden will pay tribute to all 5-branches of our US Armed Forces. It will incorporate an area for reflection, a center monument, an illuminated American Flag, a depository box for tattered American Flags (to be collected by the American Legion), thoughtful landscaping and memorial brick pavers to be engraved as the border & fundraising component for this Memorial Garden.
Troop 4638 will kick-off this project on Memorial Day, May 28, 2018 at 10:00 AM (weather permitting). They plan to have the project completed by Memorial Day of 2019, when the girls will turn-over the completed garden to the American Legion members.
Please consider purchasing an engraved brick and become part of a lasting memorial here in Avalon Park.
